Fresh Produce Definitions for Farm Direct Entities

Farm Direct Entities are considered: farmers markers, farm stands, roadside stands, produce stands, mobile farmers markets, agricultural cooperatives, and community supported agriculture (CSA) programs.

Fruit and Vegetables 

Definition for farm-direct entities: 

Any variety of whole or cut fresh, canned, dried, or frozen fruits and vegetables without added sugars, fats, or oils, and salt (i.e., sodium); SNAP eligible seeds; and food bearing plants

Examples: 

Fresh raw produce, frozen items such as corn or beans (with no added ingredients), dehydrated fruits and vegetables (not sweetened or salted), tomato seeds, tomato plants, or fresh basil.
